Alpha Paint is a *HOT!* paint program that puts Toaster Paint to shame!
It is by Innovision Technology at (510) 638-0800, FAX: (510) 638-6453,
located at 1933 Davis Street, Suite 238, San Leandro, CA 94577. It
allows you to paint *directly* on the Toaster's framebuffer (no wait for
rendering like TPaint). This is from their flyer:
o 36-bits : 24-bit painting and exclusive 12-bit Alpha Channel support
for anti-aliasing, blending, and compositing
o full-screen WYSIWYG operation with multiple undo/redo
o soft edge feathering and transparency effects played back over live video
o advanced image enhancement, painting, and drawing tools such as
sharpening & contrast filters, oil painting, airbrushing, image resizing,
unlimited compositing, rub-thru, automatic edging effects, 3-d perspective
o sophisticated text tool with full support for toaster, chroma, and post-
script fonts, including XYZ rotation, PostScript circular text wrap,
texture mapping, glow and neon effects.
o pressure sensitive drawing tablet support
o compatible with Video Toaster 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, and T4000
Minimum system requirements:
o A2000, A3000, or A4000 computer
o VT 2.0 or higher
o 8 Mb of fast ram
o 1 Mb of chip ram
o hard drive with 10 Mb free
o 68030 accelerator or higher
o AmigaDOS 1.3 or higher
o compatible with Wacom & CalComp pressure sensitive drawing tablets
This is the company that produces Broadcast Titler 2 and MONTAGE!!

Now, as far as ToasterPaint is concerned:
I don't know which releases it is included with, but I know for certain
it is shipped with the Flyer software. Gina DiBari (Electric Image) who
presented a review of the Flyer at our VTUG meeting which she got to
test drive at SIGGRAPH, said she either saw or used the new ToasterPaint,
and that it was a respectable improvement but that she "still see(s)
Digi-Paint when (she) look(s) at ToasterPaint". I don't believe it is
capable of real-time painting on the framebuffer like Alpha Paint. It
seems that Newtek puts little emphasis on ToasterPaint (I heard the
programmer was fired or "let go") or they would have done some of the
things that Alpha Paint does.
Oh, btw I forgot to mention the price of Alpha Paint: $699.95 list
